Football is the most popular game in the world and promotes good images of countries. Football also brings peace, friendship and cooperation between people and countries. More importantly, football can bring incomes for individuals, families and countries. Football is an active and rigorous exercise with benefiting to high commitment, bravery, determination, sportsmanship and team spirit.


Football in Cambodia is on reconstruction process as other fields in the country. Children and men play football on available spots in the capital city of Phnom Penh and provinces. Most of them play football for fun in parks, on pavements and roadsides and in rice fields without football coaching instructions.

Most Cambodian children wish to play football. However, most of them cannot realize their dreams because they cannot afford to buy balls or cannot find space to play. This situation had happened to me when I was a child. Fortunately, at that time my mother was a schoolteacher in Bak Touk School in Phnom Penh so she could borrow a ball from her students for me to play for a few days then I returned the ball. For these reasons, my friends and I started the Happy Project on the fourth of November 2005 to realize children's football wishes.
